Colonel Robert G. Oltman USMC (Ret)
Robert Oltman, Director MCJROTC is a retired Colonel from the United States Marine Corps and a native of Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in May 1984, upon graduation from the Pennsylvania State University. After graduating The Basic School and the Infantry Officer’s Course in April 1985, he reported to the Operating Forces.
From 1985 to 2013, Mr. Oltman served in several Operating Force and Supporting Establishment Commands. Highlights of his 31 years of active duty service include Command as well as Staff Billets at all levels; Battalion, Regiment, Division and MEF. He has served CONUS and OCONUS and completed a tour on the Joint Staff.
Mr. Oltman has a Bachelor of Science in Polymer Science from the Pennsylvania State University. In addition, he also has a Master’s Degree in Acquisition and Contracting from the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA, and a Master’s Degree in National Strategic Studies from the College of Naval Warfare in Newport, RI.
Personal decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit w/gold star, Bronze Star w/V, the Meritorious Service Medal w/2nd gold star, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal w/gold star, the Combat Action Ribbon and the Joint Meritorious Unit Commendation w/oak leaf cluster.
